Saturday - September 24, 2011

Ella and I are on our today as Brian in SF for a continuing education class.  We spent the day organizing Ella's clothes (put away her 0-3, 3-6 months clothes) and re-did her dresser for 6-9 months and 9-12 months.  It's crazy how big she is - - she's our giant.

Introducing Ella to her play pen.  Ella seems to enjoy her new surroundings and isn't freaking out which is nice. It was suggested to introduce the play pen at an early age so that the child enjoys being in it.

Ella's rice cereal adventure continues and we're increasing her serving as each week progresses.  ;)  I'm looking forward to veggies, fruits and meats!

Ella is starting to teeth or at least chew really hard so I'm trying to get her use to her pacifier again.  There are days where she loves it and of course days where she rather chew her hand off.

Thursday - August 11, 2011

So Ella wouldn't sleep again so this was the second night in a row I let her sleep with me. ;(  Tonight, I will definitely put her to sleep in her crib!

Morning/Afternoon Activities:  Who enjoys helping set up the convention center?  Ella!  Though we only got to help for 20 minutes before the safety department told us they appreciate our effort however it was not a good idea.  Darn!  We were hoping to go for a little longer but at least we got to see the friends. In the parking lot, I turned my car into Ella's diaper changing station and then fed her.  We spent a few minutes getting her comfortable in her car seat and she's getting better at holding her pacifier in her mouth with her own hand!

Afternoon Activities:Afterward, we did a few errands (shopping for gifts for our trip to Hawaii) and then came home to relax.  Ella got a nice surprise when her Nana came by with a dress and got to play with her.

Evening Activities:  Ella took a nice long three hour nap in the afternoon which allowed me to catch up on errands around the house.  We spent most of the early evening preparing for the District Convention (packing the diaper bag, packing extra clothes/diapers/wipes, preparing toys, etc.) and then spent quality play time.  Brian came home and we went to dinner at the Club Pheasant

Tuesday - August 9, 2011

Happy Tuesday!  Ella slept so good last night and she is now able to turn herself 190 degrees.  I woke up at 7 to find her turned the other direction - still sleeping and her arms un-swaddled. I'm going to be sad when she is able to turn herself over ;( because that will mean I can no longer swaddle her.  I am hoping that she is still able to sleep with without being swaddle.

Afternoon Activities:  Working from home is awesome.  Ella played and slept for most of the morning but we did run a few errands and even make a special trip to visit her Great Grandpa Steele. While at Arden Fair Fall, Ella enjoyed shopping with me and was fascinated with the lights and different people walking around.  One of the lotion sellers asked to take a picture of Ella (he thought she was the cutest baby he's ever seen) and asked if I put product in her hair.  LOL.

Evening Activities: After her long nap (2:30pm to 5:15pm) Ella woke up with a smile.  She just loves to talk and suck on her hand.  I think we spent most of the evening talking and making Ella smile/giggle.  She's so interactive!

Friday - June 17, 2011

I think Ella is officially sleeping through the night!  For infants, that means sleep 5-6 hours in one sitting.  Which means I'm down to only waking up around 4 and then again at 6 or 7.  Woohoo!  She slept from 10pm to 3:45am and barely cried to be fed and changed - went right back to sleep afterward.  The  morning trip to work was so easy as she slept through the whole drive.

Easy Baby to change - rarely cries when she gets a diaper change!  While getting Ella ready for the trip to work, I realized how good I have it when I change her.  No cries or accidents (so far!) and she's in a fairly good mood after she has been changed.

Afternoon Play Time - After coming home from work, we enjoyed a little play time on her vibrating bouncer (which I bring everywhere it seems!)
Video: Lots of hand movements and facial expressions.

Ella's Little Black Dress - This is Ella's first evening outing with us to eat at a nice kid-friendly restaurant - yes a restaurant filled with people.  We survived. . . . .at least I was able to enjoy my salad.

Ella and Favorite Pacifier - First time sucking on a pacifier and enjoying it.  We may have found one that she likes!!
