Ella decided to pull a fast one on me last night and woke up at 2:50am (I went to bed at midnight) and continued to stay awake until 4:30am. Let's hope that was just a fluke and she goes back to her good sleeping habit!
Morning @ DDGE - Ella did great on the drive to work and the drive home. I am so grateful for how much love and attention Ella receives by the Defty family. As I walked into the front door, I see Shae and her cousins playing with Ella. The kids takes turn playing with Ella - so cute!

Afternoon: Play date with Claire but it was really a lunch date for the moms @ Fuji Sushi house in Elk Grove (all you can eat buffet - yum!).

Happy Hump Day!
Ella slept an amazing 9 hours last night (10pm to 7am) without any reservations. One would think she would be wide awake today but she spent most of it napping on me (literally - slept on me). After Brian gave her a bath, she played, eat and fell asleep.

Video: Ella staring around the room while sitting on my lap.
Went through our wedding slide show and found baby pictures of Brian and me. To my surprise, I am going to say she looks more like me! ;) Though she has 4x more hair than Brian and I combine at her age.

Who enjoys a lazy Tuesday? We do! Besides catching on a few things, I love taking naps with Ella and getting her dressed to go out. Ella is taking longer afternoon naps, still makes lots of bubbles, and likes to be held upright.

Tuesday Meeting: Ella behaved during our entire meeting and much thanks to Sheryl & Olivia for holding her for most of meeting. ;)

After we got home from bible study, Ella was wide awake so we played for a little while before she was fed/changed and put down for the night.

Hello!
We love five day weekends with Brian (woohoo! Brian is off until Thursday)! Ella went to bed last night at 8:15pm and woke up at 6:00am - amazing! She's such a good baby and I LOVE her sleeping habit. She continues to make lots of bubbles and doesn't suck her thumb too often.
Morning Activities: After our morning bath, we went to visit Mary in her new home in Woodland. Ella slept the whole way there and back home. I work my whole driving schedule around her nursing/changing schedule. She is not a happy camper if she's hungry or needs to be changed.

Afternoon Activities: We went to the mall to look for shoes, watched Larry Crowne (Ella took her afternoon nap during the whole movie - it was great!) and had lunch at Johnny Rocket. I enjoy receiving comments by random strangers on how cute Ella is or how awesome her hair is. ;) When we got home, Ella enjoyed playing on her play mat for almost an hour before we went over to Grandpa's house.

Evening Activities: We originally wanted to catch a comedy gig, but we decided to hang out with Grandpa Steele. And boy did we have a blast. Ella went swimming for the first time ;) along with Claire and Dexter. It was a fun treat for the whole family as we even got to play Settlers. When we got home, we gave Ella a bath/change/fed and we then put her down for the night.

Sunday - July 3, 2011
Hello Sunday! Ella slept wonderfully last night (9:30pm to 7:00am) and continues to wake me up by her cute sucking sounds. We spent most of the day indoors as it was HOT outside.
Morning/Afternoon Activities: After I fed/changed her, she spent the next 45 minutes playing on her play mat. She's starting to "talk" when you talk to her and making cute noises. I am loving her smiles and funny frowns as she learns to control her facial muscles. She must have been tired or going through a growth spurt because it felt like she slept all day.
Video: Ella playing on her play mat - you can hear her talk, smile, giggle, etc.
Picture: Ella sleeping mid-morning.

Evening with the Steele family: We had Brian's parents and Grandpa Steele over for dinner. Ella did great for most of dinner until she was ready for bed at 8:15pm.

Ella sleeps through the night! She continues to sleep in her crib from about 9ish to 6ish and I only wake up to her sucking noise (no cries). I hope this continues throughout her childhood. After being fed/changed, we spent the morning taking it easy as Ella was still sleepy.

Afternoon Activities: We had a busy day today - Ella's first Kids Summer Party. The party was awesome even thought it was 100 degrees outside (thank goodness for shade!). All the kids look like they had a blast and Ella loved being held by the friends. Brian joined in on the fun and helped out with the face painting.

Evening: We came home ready for bed. After giving Ella a bath, she played a little bit on her mat and then passed out.

Hello July!
Who's ready for a nice long three day weekend? Ella is! We're excited to spend the weekend with Brian at home and to enjoy more tummy time, bumbo time, and baby talk.
Ella is a wonderful baby at night - went to bed at 9:30pm and I didn't wake up to her smacking her lips until about 6:00am. Crazy right? I can't remember the last time I woke up to the sound of her crying.
Morning Activities: After her morning nap (which I enjoyed immensely as she slept on me), we did our usual morning play time routine BUT with an addition of a new baby activity mat. It's a frog! ;) How cute right? The play mat is suppose to help with her tummy time.
Video: Tummy time on her new tummy play mat. The first minute is always pleasant - - the last four minutes is dreadful.
Afternoon @ DDGE: Ella slept the whole ride to work (thank goodness!) and after we changed/fed her went right back to sleep. Jacqueline watched her and said she did better than yesterday. Woohoo! She slept, played, changed, fed, slept, and then we went home. I am glad she's adapting to people so easily - I want her to be a social butterfly when she grows up.
Picture: This was taken on Tuesday when Amber was watching Ella. She woke up and was itching for her thumb. Funny stuff right?
Video: Afternoon play time for Ella.
Evening Activities: We love our Friday evenings with Brian. Went to our first River Cats Baseball Game today as a family. Brian held Ella in the Baby Bjorn sling while we watched the game. We only stayed until the fifth inning but it was fun getting out. Gave Ella a bath and she fell asleep after she was changed/fed.
